Detección de Variantes del gen LRRK2 en pacientes con enfermedad de Parkinson

LRRK2 es uno de los genes más estudiados a nivel mundial en el ámbito de la enfermedad de Parkinson, donde sus variantes patogénicas son las principales causantes del desarrollo de la enfermedad, alterando actividades homeostáticas como la autofagia y transporte vesículas mediadas por el reconocimiento celular del gen, como también por hiperactividad del dominio quinada causada por mutaciones como G2019S. El objetivo reforzar la detección de estas variantes a través del análisis de estas bibliografías, sistematizando la evidencia actual sobre el funcionamiento de LRRK2, sus mutaciones asociadas y la evolución de las técnicas empleadas para su identificación. Se realizó una búsqueda sistemática de fuentes de información científicas y verificadas en base de datos reconocidas (Google Shcoolar, MDPI, PubMed y NCBI), los cuales fueron sometidos a criterios de exclusión e inclusión para su selección final. Los resultados confirmaron que LRRK2 y sus variantes como G2019S, I2020T e R1441C/G, etc, cumplen un rol crítico en el estudio de la enfermedad de Parkinson y como este abarca varios mecanismos y vías en el desarrollo de la enfermedad. Se concluyo que LRRK2 necesita un estudio multidisciplinario donde el estudio de sus variantes a nivel molecular y su funcionamiento estructural deben converger para entender en totalidad el rol patogénico de LRRK2 y da paso a la enfermedad de Parkinson.
