Avances en biomarcadores para la detección de carcinoma hepatocelular

El cáncer más recurrente a nivel hepático es el carcinoma hepatocelular, un cáncer caracterizado con un mal pronóstico debido a la detección en etapas avanzadas. Cada año, se eleva los casos de personas con carcinoma hepatocelular y a la par se aumenta la tasa de mortalidad. La principal barrera por derrumbar es la falta de un diagnóstico temprano, de esta manera se mejorará la tasa de supervivencia. El presente artículo de revisión bibliográfica tiene como objetivo la recopilación de los avances de los biomarcadores para la detección del carcinoma hepatocelular de manera temprana. La investigación se basó en la metodología narrativa para seleccionar artículos originales más recientes que investigan biomarcadores emergentes para el aporte en decisiones clínicas, principalmente en el diagnóstico temprano del carcinoma hepatocelular, mediante la investigación bibliográfica utilizando las bases de datos de PubMed, Scopus y Web of Science entre los años 2020 y 2025. Al concluir con la investigación bibliográfica, se identificó múltiples biomarcadores emergentes que pueden ser utilizados para alcanzar un diagnóstico temprano. Sin embargo, se requiere de nuevos estudios con cohortes ampliados para corroborar los resultados obtenidos y mejorar la detección del carcinoma hepatocelular.
