ABSTRACT
This research aimed to analyze the impact of digital pedagogical integration on academic
performance and student retention within active hybrid models in higher education. It
was developed as a correlational study with a quantitative approach, applied to a
population of university students enrolled in hybrid courses during the analyzed
academic period. Two main sources were used for data collection: a structured
questionnaire that assessed digital pedagogical integration using 10 Likert-type items,
and institutional records of academic performance and student retention. The results
showed positive and statistically significant correlations between digital pedagogical
integration and academic performance (ρ=0.58), as well as between digital pedagogical
integration and student retention (ρ=0.46). Furthermore, a strong correlation was
identified between academic performance and retention (ρ=0.63), confirming the close
relationship between these two indicators. Taken together, the findings demonstrate that
digital pedagogical integration is a key factor in active hybrid learning models, as it
promotes both academic achievement and student retention throughout their educational
journey. It is concluded that strengthening digital pedagogical integration can contribute
to improving educational quality and fostering more effective and sustainable learning
environments in higher education.
