Satisfaction with muscular appearance and psychological well-being is a topic that, although little studied, can offer better knowledge in the scientific community. The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between satisfaction with muscular appearance and psychological well-being in young adult athletes. The sample consisted of 118 participants, women and men, with an age range between 18 and 35 years. The study was conducted using a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and correlational scope. The following instruments were used: the Mayville Muscular Appearance Satisfaction Scale (MASS) and the Carol Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale, the version adapted to Spanish by Díaz in 2006. The Pearson test was applied to determine the correlation. The results showed a slight positive relationship between both variables (R= 0.343 p<0.001). Therefore, it is concluded that the greater the satisfaction with muscular appearance, the greater the psychological well-being in athletes.
