Abstract

The study examined the importance of active attention of students in synchronous classes and its impact on academic performance in the Education program at the State University of the South of Manabí. Through a combination of empirical and theoretical methods, we sought to identify the factors that influence student participation and develop strategies to improve the learning experience in virtual environments. The results highlighted the relevance of the student-teacher interaction, the quality of the study environment and the student's motivation to maintain attention during classes, which contributes to the actions derived from the research project being carried out in the Education major. Which deals with: Improvement of pedagogical practices in educational institutions in the southern area of Manabí. The study highlighted the need to effectively address the specific challenges faced by students in virtual environments and offered practical guidance to improve the quality of online education. In addition, it stood out for the variety of opinions offered by students in the survey, with different points of view, which offered important data in order to improve the educational quality of synchronous classes. These findings provided a solid foundation for improving the effectiveness of synchronous classes and promoting student academic success.
