Technical education and rurality
Keywords:
Technical education, rurality, educational innovationAbstract
This review article focuses on technical education and its nuances in rural areas. The value of providing people with the knowledge, skills and employment opportunities they need to enable them to make significant contributions to society as a whole is emphasized. The objective of technical education is to empower people and enable their full development in both the social and labor spheres. Instead of the reductionist lens that has historically characterized rural education research, the article emphasizes the need to use a broader approach when analyzing the rural. It is important to emphasize the benefits and resources that rural areas have, both in terms of culture, the natural world and social aspects, rather than just concentrating on shortcomings and problems. It is argued that rural communities can be empowered and their sustainable development can be supported by implementing contextualized and inclusive educational approaches. More harmonious and equitable growth can be fostered by taking into account local resources, allowing rural residents to actively participate in change and development within their own communities.
