The TEMONET platform, based on Edge Computing and SDN, requires its control element to be always operational to maintain multiple simultaneous connections and offer an efficient service to its users. This project aims to design and implement redundant SDN controllers under the active/active scheme using free software tools such as LINUX distributions, Ryu Controller and additional low cost hardware such as Raspberry Pi 3 B+. A cluster of controllers was implemented to ensure a stable connection for end users using OpenFlow and Open vSwitch protocol. The results demonstrate that the prototype complies with redundancy and high availability, proposing an economical and viable solution for enterprise deployments.
