Actitudes ambientales de maestros en instituciones de Educación Básica en Quevedo, Ecuador

Este estudio explora las actitudes y comportamientos de maestros hacia cuestiones ambientales y políticas, revelando la complejidad en su postura ética. La investigación se llevó a cabo en tres centros de educación básica del municipio Quevedo, Ecuador. Los datos se recolectaron mediante la aplicación de 115 encuestas a maestros, con preguntas de opción múltiple con escala Likert. Las respuestas de las preguntas fueron analizadas con un Análisis de componentes principales (APC). Previo al análisis, se ejecutaron las pruebas confirmatorias de Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) y esfericidad de Bartlett. Los hallazgos de este estudio sugieren que los maestros confían en la capacidad humana para resolver los problemas ambientales y una preferencia por sistemas de gobierno representativos, con una ética influenciada por valores religiosos. Los valores políticos de los maestros guardaron una correlación entre políticas económicas procrecimiento empresarial y actitudes restrictivas hacia la inmigración. Respecto a la gestión y comportamiento ambiental, se observó una actitud favorable hacia prácticas energéticas sostenibles y la conmemoración de días ambientales. Estos hallazgos resaltan la importancia de considerar las actitudes y comportamientos ambientales de los maestros, en la formulación planes de educación ambiental integral, que consideren enfoques antropocéntricos y ecocéntricos para fomentar una sociedad equilibrada con valores ambientales.
