Cistatina C como marcador predictivo de preeclampsia

Resumen

La preeclampsia se presenta a partir de las 20 semanas de gestación y afecta entre el 3% y 10% de todos los embarazos, se manifiesta con hipertensión, proteinuria y edemas principalmente bimaleolares. Se asocia con varios factores predisponentes como la obesidad, sobrepeso, DM1 y DM2, hipertensión arterial, trastornos autoinmunes, enfermedad renal, entre otros. Se usan diversos biomarcadores para su diagnóstico, sin embargo, se consideran como determinantes de gravedad, mas no del desarrollo de la Preeclampsia. Por otro lado, la Cistatina C ha sido presentada como un importante biomarcador predictivo de Preeclampsia. Objetivo: Evaluar el uso de la Cistatina C como marcador predictivo de preeclampsia. Metodología: Se realiza una investigación de tipo observacional, descriptivo y corte transversal incluyendo 30 pacientes de 18 a 38 años cursando el primer y segundo trimestre de embarazo, que presenten factores de riesgo relacionados, determinado por medio de una encuesta. Se realizan análisis de orina y suero, cuantificación de Cistatina C por ensayos inmunoturbidimétricos y los resultados reflejan un aumento progresivo en contraste con el desarrollo de la gestación en un 90% de las pacientes. Se concluye que la Cistatina C puede ser considerada un marcador predictivo de preeclampsia en contraste con otros biomarcadores asociados.
