Introduction: Hemodynamic monitoring performed by nursing staff is a vital tool for tracking changes in the vital signs of critically ill patients; it enables the timely detection of cardiovascular and tissue perfusion abnormalities, thereby facilitating immediate interventions, preventing complications, optimizing care, and improving clinical outcomes in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). Objective: To analyze the importance of hemodynamic monitoring performed by nursing staff in the early detection of clinical deterioration in critically ill patients. Methodology: A retrospective qualitative systematic review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines, analyzing studies published between 2021 and 2026 regarding nursing-led hemodynamic monitoring for the surveillance of clinical deterioration in critically ill patients. Results: The results demonstrate that hemodynamic monitoring performed by nurses enables the early detection of clinical deterioration through continuous surveillance, early warning systems, and clinical judgment; this facilitates timely interventions, reduces complications, mortality rates, and ICU admissions, and improves the safety and prognosis of critically ill patients. Conclusion: Nursing-led hemodynamic monitoring facilitates the early detection of clinical deterioration, optimizes decision-making through warning systems, and strengthens safe care practices, thereby reducing complications and improving outcomes for critically ill patients.
