Thyroiditis is the inflammation of the thyroid gland, autoantibodies are found in the first causes, the study of thyroid function demands an understanding of the processes that include the synthesis, secretion, transport, metabolism, regulation and action of hormones thyroid. The objective was to evaluate thyroid hormones and their relationship with thyroiditis in patients treated at the Francisco Icaza Bustamante Hospital during the period 2023. A retrospective study was carried out in which medical records were reviewed and thyroid hormone values (T3) were collected. , T4, TSH) and the diagnosis of thyroiditis. Statistical data reveal significant associations between thyroid hormone concentrations and thyroiditis in patients at the Francisco Icaza Bustamante Hospital. The cross table reveals a higher incidence of thyroiditis in children aged 11 to 17 years, especially Graves and Hashimoto's types. Furthermore, a significant association is observed between Hashimoto's thyroiditis and abnormally high concentrations of TSH_1 and (p < 0.004). Highlighting the importance of monitoring thyroid hormones in patients with thyroiditis to improve early detection and clinical management of thyroid disease.
Statistical data reveal significant associations between thyroid hormone concentrations and thyroiditis in patients at the Francisco Icaza Bustamante Hospital. The frequency table shows a predominance of abnormal TSH_1 concentrations in patients with thyroiditis. The cross table reveals a higher incidence of thyroiditis in children aged 11 to 17 years, especially of the GRAVES and HASHIMOTO types. Furthermore, a significant association is observed between HASHIMOTO thyroiditis and high abnormal concentrations of TSH_1 (p < 0.004). Highlighting the importance of monitoring thyroid hormones in patients with thyroiditis to improve early detection and clinical management of thyroid disease.
