Abstract

This review article examines respiratory diseases in children in detail, analyzing their epidemiology, etiology, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention. Through a comprehensive review of relevant research and studies, a wide range of respiratory diseases affecting the pediatric population, including asthma, bronchiolitis, pneumonia, and pertussis, are addressed. Risk factors, such as exposure to tobacco smoke, air pollution, and viral infections, that may contribute to the development of these conditions in children, are explored. The article also addresses the challenges in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases in children, considering the differences in clinical presentation and the appropriate therapeutic options for this population. The importance of educating parents and caregivers in the prevention and management of these diseases is highlighted, as well as the promotion of respiratory hygiene and vaccination practices. In addition, the impact of respiratory diseases on the quality of life of children and their families is examined, highlighting the need for multidisciplinary approaches to provide comprehensive care.
