Gestational syphilis represents a serious risk to maternal and child health, particularly due to its ability to be vertically transmitted to the fetus and cause congenital infections. The primary objective of this research was to assess the relationship between syphilis and congenital infections in pregnant women treated at the Jipijapa city Health Center, to improve early diagnosis, timely treatment, and prevention of neonatal complications. The methodology of study was quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional. Sociodemographic surveys and serological tests were administered to a representative sample of pregnant women. Variables such as age, educational level, health and socioeconomic status were analyzed. The results revealed that 1.5% of pregnant women tested positive for syphilis, with a predominance among young women between 18 and 29 years of age. Likewise, 42.13% lived with pets, and 30.96% had incomplete vaccination schedules. Eleven percent lived in poverty and informal employment, factors that hinder access to prenatal care. It is concluded that, although the prevalence of syphilis was low, perinatal risks remain significant. The combination of biological, social, and health factors increases the vulnerability of pregnant women, which requires strengthening public health strategies for comprehensive prenatal care and early screening for infections.
