Anticuerpos contra proteínas carbamiladas: su rol como biomarcador en el diagnóstico de artritis reumatoide

Los anticuerpos anti-CarP, se encuentran en auge debido a la creciente investigación orientada a ampliar el conocimiento sobre su papel como biomarcador diagnóstico de la AR. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo analizar el valor diagnóstico de anticuerpos anti-CarP en pacientes con AR, con especial énfasis en la positividad de estos anticuerpos en AR seronegativa. Se realizó una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de recopilar la evidencia científica más reciente sobre los anticuerpos anti-CarP. Los resultados evidenciaron que, debido a la heterogeneidad poblacional observada en las distintas investigaciones, los anticuerpos anti-CarP no demuestran una utilidad suficiente como para ser considerados un biomarcador capaz de sustituir a los marcadores convencionales. Además, su presencia no se observa de manera uniforme en todos los pacientes seronegativos, sino que aparece de forma irregular y poco predecible, lo que limita su utilidad diagnóstica. Se concluye que los anticuerpos anti-CarP, si bien se presentan en la AR, su valor diagnóstico aún es limitado, por ello, se recomienda continuar explorando nuevos biomarcadores que aporten una mayor sensibilidad para la detección de la AR seronegativa.
