Anti-plagiarism and criteria

To guarantee the originality of manuscripts, the correct use of information, and its authenticity and provenance, the PROciencias Scientific Journal employs PLAGIARISMA software to detect plagiarism in all documents submitted for publication. The PLAGIARISMA anti-plagiarism program consists of a system that detects the similarity of a document's content to information stored in various databases, with the aim of respecting copyright.

The Editorial Committee of the PROciencias Scientific Journal is responsible for verifying the report generated by the anti-plagiarism software and, subsequently, in agreement with the editor, issues a report to the authors outlining the possible sanctions for violating the Declaration of Ethics and Malpractice in Publication.

CRITERIA

Articles containing up to 10% plagiarism in the entire manuscript will be accepted, including text, figures, and tables from other documents that are not properly cited and referenced.

All documents that do not meet the aforementioned criteria but do not exceed 40% plagiarism will be returned to their authors for correction. They must reduce the plagiarism to the acceptable limit and provide a report indicating the source of the citations and the originality of the document. However, if the plagiarism exceeds 40%, the Editorial Committee will inform the authors that the manuscript must be rewritten, and may be subject to sanctions based on the Code of Ethics.
