SOCIAL MOBILITY AND MIGRATIONS

Abstract

This review examines the impact of migration on social mobility, the challenges and opportunities of migrant integration, and the influence of public policies on the social mobility of migrants. It analyzes how migration can act as a catalyst for social mobility, allowing individuals and their families to access better economic, educational and quality of life opportunities. However, barriers that can limit this potential, such as discrimination and labor exploitation, are also highlighted. The review also addresses the challenges of migrant integration, including linguistic, cultural and social barriers, and how inclusive policies and programs can facilitate successful integration. Opportunities arising from integration, such as economic contribution and cultural diversity, are also explored. In addition, public policies that can influence the social mobility of migrants are discussed, highlighting the importance of inclusive policies in education, employment and social welfare to maximize migrants' opportunities and promote equality. The article concludes that a combination of inclusive policies and supportive practices is essential to fully reap the benefits of migration and ensure the social mobility of migrants.
