Statement on Ethics and Malpractice in Publishing

The PROciencias Scientific Journal adheres to its own code of ethics, which strives for the highest international excellence and is primarily directed at editors, reviewers, and authors:

Author Commitments

Originality and Data Accuracy: Authors of manuscripts submitted to the PROciencias Scientific Journal attest that the work is original and unpublished, and that it does not contain parts from other authors or fragments of works already published by the authors. They also confirm the veracity of the data, meaning that the empirical data have not been altered to verify hypotheses.
Multiple and/or Repetitive Publications: Authors should not publish articles that repeat the same results in more than one scientific journal or any other non-academic publication. Submitting the same contribution to multiple scientific journals simultaneously is considered an ethically incorrect and reprehensible practice.
Attributions, Citations, and References: Authors must always provide the correct attribution of the sources and contributions mentioned in the article.

Authorship: The authors guarantee the inclusion of those individuals who have made a significant scientific and intellectual contribution to the conceptualization and planning of the work, as well as to the interpretation of the results and the writing of the article. The order of authorship is determined by their level of responsibility and involvement.
Access and Retention: If the Editorial Board deems it appropriate, authors of articles must also make available the sources or data on which the research is based. These sources or data may be retained for a reasonable period after publication and may eventually be accessible.
Conflict of Interest and Disclosure: All authors must explicitly declare that there are no conflicts of interest that could have influenced the results obtained or the interpretations proposed. Authors must also indicate any funding from agencies and/or projects that contributed to the research article. Errors in Published Articles: When an author identifies a significant error or inaccuracy in their article, they must immediately inform the journal editors and provide them with all the necessary information to list the relevant corrections at the end of the article (always in a marginal note, not to alter the publication).
Responsibility: The responsibility for the content of articles published in the Scientific Journal of Educational Innovation and Contemporary Society "ALCON" rests solely with the authors. Authors also commit to reviewing the most current and relevant scientific literature on the topic analyzed, taking into account the various schools of thought.

Reviewers' Commitments

Contribution to the Editorial Decision: Peer review is a procedure that helps editors make decisions about submitted articles and also allows authors to improve the quality of their articles submitted for publication. Reviewers conduct a critical, honest, constructive, and impartial review of both the scientific and literary quality of the writing within their area of ​​expertise and skills.

Respect for Review Deadlines: Reviewers who do not feel competent in the subject matter or who cannot complete the evaluation within the allotted time must notify the editors immediately. Reviewers are committed to evaluating manuscripts as quickly as possible to meet deadlines, as PROciencias Scientific Journal has strict and inflexible retention periods for manuscripts awaiting review, out of respect for authors and their work.
Confidentiality: Each assigned manuscript must be treated as confidential. Therefore, these texts should not be discussed with others without the express consent of the editors.
Objectivity: Peer review must be objective. Reviewers must provide sufficient reasons for each of their evaluations, always using the review template. Reviewers will submit a complete critical report with appropriate references in accordance with the PROciencias Scientific Journal review protocol and the public guidelines for reviewers, especially if they recommend that the work be rejected. They are required to inform the editors if substantial parts of the work have already been published or are under review for another publication.
Text Visualization: Reviewers agree to accurately indicate bibliographic references for fundamental works that the author may have overlooked. The reviewer must also inform the editors of any similarity to or overlap between the manuscript and other published works.

Anonymity: To ensure the review process is as objective, impartial, and transparent as possible, authors' identities are removed before articles are submitted for peer review. If, for any reason, the authors' identities, institutional affiliations, or any other information that could compromise the anonymity of the document has been compromised, the reviewer must notify the editors immediately.

Editors' Commitment

Publication Decision: The editors will ensure the selection of the most scientifically qualified reviewers and specialists to provide a critical and expert assessment of the work, with minimal bias. The PROciencias Scientific Journal selects between two and three reviewers for each submission to ensure greater objectivity in the review process.
Honesty: The editors evaluate submitted articles based on the scientific merit of their content, without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, nationality, or political opinion of the authors. Confidentiality: The editors and members of the working group agree not to disclose information related to articles submitted for publication to anyone other than authors, reviewers, and editors. The editors and the Editorial Committee are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts, their authors, and reviewers, so that anonymity preserves the intellectual integrity of the entire process.
Conflict of Interest and Disclosure: The editors agree not to use the content of articles submitted for publication in their own research without the author's written consent.
Respect for Review Deadlines: The editors are responsible for meeting deadlines for reviews and publishing accepted manuscripts to ensure the timely dissemination of their results.
