Open Access Declaration

The Ecuadorian Society for Scientific Research seeks to contribute to and reduce the gap between industrialized and developing countries. To this end, it has decided to go further in sharing knowledge by promoting the Open Access Initiative and adopting a new open access policy for its publications.

For the Ecuadorian Society for Scientific Research, adopting an open access policy means opening the doors to thousands of publications and making them available to a much wider audience. Likewise, open access is a new way to offer a transparent perspective on the work carried out by the Journal, which, from now on, everyone can discover and share.

According to UNESCO (2013), for knowledge to continue developing, people need access to relevant sources. But without dissemination, this knowledge remains invisible, limiting people's creativity.

The scientific journal PROciencias provides immediate open access to its content, based on the principle of making research and theoretical reflection freely available to the public, thereby fostering the exchange of knowledge through the journal.

*The journal allows self-archiving of published articles in institutional and thematic repositories, as well as on personal websites for non-profit purposes, provided that the articles are not altered, the complete source and its web address are cited. Otherwise, prior written permission from the institution is required.
