Algorithmic rationality in the critical reconstruction of judgment in the era of artificial intelligence at the international level

Abstract

The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) systems into the administration of justice is one of the most significant phenomena in contemporary law. In recent decades, the expansion of algorithmic technologies capable of processing large volumes of information, identifying patterns, and formulating predictions has progressively transformed the institutional dynamics of judicial systems internationally. This study aimed to identify algorithmic rationality in the critical reconstruction of judicial proceedings in the era of artificial intelligence at the international level. A documentary design methodology was applied, and the study is explanatory and bibliographic in nature. The findings demonstrate that artificial intelligence can become a support tool for strengthening judicial efficiency; however, its use must be subordinated to ethical and legal criteria compatible with democratic values and the centrality of human beings in judicial decision-making. In conclusion, the incorporation of AI into the administration of justice necessitates a rethinking of traditional categories of procedural law and legal argumentation theory. The emergence of artificial intelligence in the legal field constitutes one of the most significant transformation processes in contemporary law.
