Abstract

Legal education underwent a notable evolution in response to the advancement of computer law and information technologies. Over time, universities had to redesign their curricula to respond to the challenges posed by digitalization, as the traditional approach to law was insufficient to address the new legal scenarios. In this process, subjects related to data protection, cybercrime, digital contracts, copyright in virtual environments, and emerging topics such as artificial intelligence and big data analytics were integrated. Both faculty and students needed to strengthen their capacities, not only in legal matters but also in the understanding and use of technological tools. Furthermore, the importance of interdisciplinary work was highlighted, in which lawyers, engineers, and ethics experts shared knowledge to address these challenges from different perspectives. In response, new academic programs focused on digital law, computer security, and technological regulations were created. Professional training in this context transformed into a flexible and constantly updated space. A lawyer with a critical vision was promoted, prepared to anticipate legal risks arising from the digital environment, act responsibly, and actively contribute to a society impacted by technology.
