Emotional intelligence (EI) has emerged as a critical factor for students' academic and social success. Beyond cognitive competence, the ability to recognize, understand, and manage emotions directly influences performance, motivation, and interpersonal relationships. This article explores the fundamental role of the teacher as a mediator in the development of students' emotional intelligence. Using a qualitative approach, we analyze the pedagogical strategies that teachers can implement to foster these skills, including modeling behaviors, creating a safe classroom climate, and integrating activities designed to foster self-awareness and empathy. The findings suggest that an intentional and systematic approach by educators can have a significant impact on students' emotional well-being and holistic development.
