Inclusive pedagogical adaptations in Ecuadorian higher education represent one of the main pedagogical and methodological challenges posed by the digital transformation taking place in the post COVID 19 university context. This literature review article examines the main challenges and strategies of the inclusive flipped classroom in Ecuadorian higher education. The inclusive flipped classroom was analyzed as an innovative pedagogical strategy aimed at strengthening digital competencies and fostering innovation, drawing on various theoretical contributions related to autonomous learning, connectivism, the sociocultural approach, and universal design for learning. Through a documentary based study with a qualitative, descriptive, and exploratory approach based on the review and synthesis of scientific literature published between 2024 and 2026 the main challenges of implementation were identified, along with the teaching strategies and the impact of the inclusive flipped classroom in the contexts of higher education in Ecuador. The results showed that this methodology promotes independent learning, the development of critical thinking, the development of digital skills, and active participation. It was also determined that its success depends on ongoing training for teachers in digital skills and on strengthening the technological infrastructure of educational institutions. However, issues persisted regarding the digital divide among students and faculty, access to internet service and electronic devices, and resistance to innovative methodological changes on the part of faculty. It is concluded that the consolidation of the inclusive flipped classroom requires educational policies aimed at strengthening pedagogical innovation and the integration of information and communication technologies, and that higher education institutions must ensure the application of active methodologies that promote dynamic learning environments enabling the development of digital competencies in Ecuadorian higher education.
