Abstract

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 is an RNA virus, which was first recorded in China and has spread around the world through respiratory material from infected people. Pregnancy is a period in which a set of physiological changes are symbolized that are intended to adapt to the requirements of the new human being. Throughout pregnancy, coronavirus-19 disease is linked to mild or moderate illness in high-risk mothers risk. The objective of the research was to analyze the consequences of coronavirus-19 disease in pregnant women: prevalence and laboratory diagnosis. For this purpose, a narrative documentary design of a bibliographic descriptive type was carried out, eligibility criteria were included and data bases with Pub were used. Med, Google academic, Dialnet, in order to carry out the research. The results obtained regarding the consequences were maternal death, postpartum hemorrhage, post-viral fatigue and premature birth, the highest prevalence of coronavirus disease in pregnant women was in the United States with 71%. The most used diagnostic method is RT-PCR. In conclusion, the different variables were analyzed to determine the main consequences that affect pregnant women, while the prevalence of the disease varies according to the population studied and the countries. Finally, the diagnostic methods used in pregnant women are mentioned.
