Protecting workers' labor rights in the digital economy: challenges in Ecuador

The digital economy is changing the way we work and has brought with it new types of employment that do not always fit with traditional labor laws. This article reviews how workers' rights are protected in Ecuador in relation to digital platforms and compares it with the laws of countries such as Spain, France, and Colombia. The research is based on an analysis of both national and international laws. The conclusion is that Ecuador does not have specific legislation regulating these new digital jobs, unlike other nations that have already made significant changes. Some recommendations are also offered for creating public policies that ensure good working conditions in the digital environment.
