Teacher professional development in the digital age

The aim of this article is to reflect on teacher professional development in the digital age. The article was based on bibliographical research as a fundamental process consisting of searching, collecting, organizing, analyzing and evaluating information from various sources, which allowed the following conclusions to be reached: Teachers need to develop digital skills in various areas, such as searching and evaluating information, communication, creating digital content, problem solving and collaborative work. There are various models and approaches to teacher professional development in the digital age, such as blended learning, communities of practice, mentoring, microlearning and game-based learning. Educational institutions and public policies play a fundamental role in supporting teacher professional development in the digital age. Teacher professional development in the digital age is a challenge and an opportunity for teachers and the future of teacher professional development in the digital age is full of possibilities, with the incorporation of new technologies such as artificial intelligence, virtual and augmented reality, and mobile learning. Teachers must be prepared to take advantage of these new technologies and use them in creative and innovative ways to improve education.
