Abstract

At the State University of Southern Manabí, the main problem is the distribution of teaching hours, currently carried out with office tools such as Word and Excel, which is inefficient. There is no web system that allows this process to be managed in a structured and immediate way. Therefore, the objective of this research was the development and implementation of a web application for the assignment of teaching hours. A requirements analysis was carried out and the problems faced were identified, thus defining the specifications for an adequate system. The methodology used is experimental, focused on investigating the cause-effect relationship in the development of the software, and was complemented with a quantitative approach through surveys and data analysis. The implementation of the web system sought to optimize the assignment of subjects, guaranteeing an equitable and efficient distribution, documented in forms for verification. With this application, the aim is to improve administrative efficiency, reduce manual errors and lighten the workload of those responsible. The innovative approach based on information technologies modernizes university management, improving the organization of academic activities and, consequently, the quality of the educational process.
