Indigenous legends of Cotopaxi and their influence on the teaching process in ninth grade

Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the influence of the indigenous legends of Cotopaxi in the learning process of ninth grade students of the "CERIT" Educational Unit. The methodology used is an exploratory experimental design, with a quantitative approach. For data collection, a Likert scale survey was used, which allowed measuring the attitude of students towards indigenous legends, evaluating their degree of agreement with various statements. The sample consisted of ninth grade students and teachers of the institution. The procedure included prior validation of the measurement instruments and ethical authorization by teachers of the technical university of Cotopaxi. The results achieved show that students have a high level of interest and knowledge about indigenous legends, which contributes positively to their cultural formation. In addition, it was identified that these legends have a direct impact on the perception and understanding of local identity, favoring the academic and cultural learning of students.
