Abstract

The central purpose of this study was to design a teaching strategy based on Google Sites to improve the English reading and listening comprehension of eighth-grade students at the "San Francisco de Asís" Educational Unit. A mixed methodology was adopted, combining a diagnostic assessment of English language comprehension skills with expert validation. A survey and a diagnostic test were administered to 25 students, and two teachers were interviewed. The results revealed a significant contradiction: while their motivation toward using digital resources was very high (60% strongly agreed), their actual competence in reading and listening comprehension was concentrated at an intermediate level (40% and 44%, respectively). A proposal based on Google Sites was designed and unanimously validated by five experts, who rated it as excellent in all criteria: relevance, clarity, applicability, innovation, and expected impact. This endorsement confirms that the strategy is pedagogically sound and feasible, with high potential to strengthen English reading and listening comprehension.
