Abstract

Psychomotor development in early childhood is a multidimensional process influenced by institutional management and the socio-educational environment. This research analyzed the factors that affect gross and fine motor skills in infants aged 12 to 36 months at the "Gotitas de Lluvia" Child Development Center, positioning educational management as the central axis of the process. Using a mixed-methods approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design, a census sample of 36 children was studied. Psychomotor assessment forms were used for quantitative analysis, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with teachers and administrators for the qualitative component, evaluating the impact of planning and resource management. The results show a high level of achievement in gross motor skills (41.7%), with superior performance in the 31- to 36-month age group. However, fine motor skills show significant delays, especially in the 12- to 24-month age group. It was identified that institutional management shows weaknesses in the provision of specific materials and in teacher training, in addition to a gap in guidance for parents or guardians that limits family participation to 58.3%. It is concluded that the manager's role is crucial to moving beyond isolated planning toward a co-responsibility strategy that guarantees effective and sustainable early childhood stimulation.
