Abstract

The study addressed the problem of the poor application of educational innovation strategies in the teaching of mathematics in higher basic education. The objective was to determine the impact of these strategies in said context. For it, theoretical methods such as analysis, synthesis and inductive-deductive were used, which facilitated the understanding of the most effective strategies. In addition, empirical methods such as observation, interviews and surveys were used to obtain accurate data. The results revealed that educational innovation strategies, particularly the use of information and communication technologies, had a positive and significant impact on the teaching of mathematics. Regarding of perception of students, 93.33% said they were very satisfied with the applied educational innovation strategies and 100% expressed that it is very likely that they will continue using them. Technological tools such as Microsoft Forms, Microsoft office, YouTube, Educaplay, Canva, Khan Academy and Quizizz not only make learning more attractive and practical, but also allow adaptation to the individual needs of students. This affirms that information and communication technologies are effective in improve and enhance the educational process.
