Abstract

The academic management process is closely linked to the motivation of the teacher, in this sense, it is considered to be a necessity in the institutional work. In this order of analysis, a limited domain in the knowledge of the term motivation has been empirically glimpsed, which significantly affects the development of professional competence, since several scholars agree that motivation is the center of competences. The objective was focused on: relation academic management from the motivation of the teacher at the State University of the South of Manabí. The research was based on a mixed approach, combining methods from the theoretical, empirical and mathematical-statistical level. On the basis of the concretion of the methods, interesting results were obtained that corroborated that there are epistemological gaps in the definition of motivation, as well as the structural elements and their application in pedagogical practice; Said information was obtained through the application of a questionnaire to teachers. The importance of working with motivation towards the institution, the profession and with positive values is also highlighted. As a conclusion, the assessment of academic management was reached from the motivation of the teacher at the State University of the South of Manabí, with evidence that the teaching staff is competent to the extent that they are motivated.
