Abstract

The development of critical thinking in higher education is essential to train professionals capable of facing the challenges of the contemporary world. This article proposes a comprehensive approach that combines neuroscience, psychology and philosophy of education. Neuroscience offers a deep understanding of the cognitive processes involved in learning, revealing how the neural connections that support critical thinking are formed and consolidated. Psychology provides knowledge about motivation, emotion and learning, allowing us to design educational strategies that foster an environment conducive to critical thinking. Finally, the philosophy of education invites us to reflect on the ethical and epistemological principles that should guide teaching, promoting a holistic approach that values the diversity of perspectives. By integrating these three fields, the aim is not only to improve students' academic skills, but also to cultivate their capacity for analysis and critical reflection. This comprehensive approach has the potential to transform higher education, preparing students to be critical thinkers and responsible citizens in an ever-changing world.
