Educational innovation and the teaching-learning process in elementary education at San Isidro Educational Unit

The article examines the relevance of educational innovation in the teaching-learning process in elementary basic education, focusing on the San Isidro educational unit, located in San Isidro parish, Cantón Sucre, Manabí. A mixed approach combining qualitative and quantitative elements was used to better understand the topic. The research was non-experimental and cross-sectional, conducted at a specific time without manipulation of variables. The findings highlight the need to promote innovative educational practices and provide continuous support to teachers to optimize students' potential. Collaboration among educators, institutions and communities is essential to create dynamic learning environments. In addition, continuous teacher training is crucial to cultivate a culture of innovation, enabling educators to implement new pedagogical methodologies effectively. Barriers that may hinder the adoption of innovative practices are identified, such as resistance to change and lack of resources in the educational unit. Through the analysis of case studies and testimonials, the positive impact that these innovations can have in the educational environment is confirmed, highlighting their importance in the integral development of students.
