Abstract

Early childhood education is a fundamental stage in holistic development. During these early years, the cognitive, social, emotional, and communicative foundations that influence the development of skills and learning are established. This article aims to describe the importance of teaching resources in early childhood education and how their appropriate pedagogical application contributes to strengthening children's holistic development. The PRISMA methodology was applied with a qualitative approach of systematic scientific research analysis through a descriptive study of the defined variables and a review of the literature on the topic. The research included 121 articles from different scientific databases and repositories, of which 15 impactful studies were used and contributed to the research by providing foundations for meaningful learning and the stimulation of cognitive, social, and emotional skills. This research also serves as an academic precedent for the project “Design of Activities and Didactic Materials for the Comprehensive Development of Early Childhood Education,” promoted by the Early Childhood Education program at the Universidad Estatal Del Sur de Manabí, to strengthen scientific production and generate educational innovation. In conclusion, the strategic use of these didactic resources is fundamental to transforming early childhood education, promoting holistic and enriching learning that fosters the acquisition of essential skills and abilities for schooling.
