This article aims to reflect on the formation of values in students of General Education. It was developed based on the results of bibliographic research and inductive and deductive methods, arriving at the following conclusions: From a theoretical point of view, the importance of the formation of values in education is highlighted and it offers a solid basis for understanding the concepts, theories and relevant approaches in this field. Recent research supports the effectiveness of various pedagogical strategies to promote the development of values in students. The role of the school in the formation of values today is more important than ever. In an increasingly complex and diverse world, the school must prepare students to face the challenges of the 21st century with integrity, responsibility and social commitment. Through a transversal approach, the creation of a climate of respect and dialogue, the example of teachers and collaboration with families and the community, the school can significantly contribute to the formation of ethical and responsible citizens, capable of building a more just and sustainable world. And finally, the teacher plays a multifaceted role in the formation of students' values. Their role involves being a model of ethical conduct, creating a climate of respect and trust, integrating values into the curriculum, encouraging dialogue and critical reflection, promoting active participation and evaluating the development of values. By assuming these responsibilities, teachers contribute to the formation of upright citizens committed to the common good.
